Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Copy editing, and writing challenges

Where are the Girl Scouts and their cookies? Why don’t they ever come to our door anymore? All we get are kids selling wrapping paper and honey-roasted peanuts and other things we don’t really want, but generally buy to help send Manuel to DisneyWorld. It’s just sad.

Urgh. Just spent 5.25 hours copy editing, in part to make up for not doing any yesterday. But, now I have a better idea of how long it will take me (at least until I’m remembering more of the process rather than looking things up).

Ack. Dean is challenging our OCW group to write more novels than he does over the next year (1 Nov.–31 Oct.). The last group, which consisted of six people, failed. Isn’t that sad? One person can write more novels in a year than six people. But since I’m considering doing Blackwood House as the NaNoWriMo challenge in November, and have this insane belief that Sarah and I can write Night Music in a week (although I don’t know if a collab will count)…

The fact that I did almost no writing in September and pretty much none so far this month has no bearing on this insanity of mine.
