Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Blearily soldiering on

BH: 550

I’ve just done five hours of copy editing, to make up for the fact that I didn’t do any yesterday. I got two articles done, though, which is good. Because of things happening at Sage, I’m going to get an extension, but I still want to have them all done before I leave for Baltimore at ohmygodearly on Friday.

So between that, my chiro appt, and a little food shopping, I haven’t had a free moment to even look at BH. I’m going to run a bath since my neck hurts and I have about half an hour before folks show up for sewing. I’m going to make sure they leave early. I’m going to push for a minimum of 1K, although I’d prefer the full 2500—it will depend on whether my cold relapses and how tired I am. (I’m feeling better today—I think the cold has broken—but I’m still congested and my throat hurts from all the coughing. And I got up at 5:30 or so to see Ken off this morning, so I’m pretty tired.)

Rejection today from Hitchcock’s for “Testing the Waters”. I wrote the story with the Spirits & Sleuths antho in mind, but decided to try for the bigger market first. (Duh.) Now it’s off to Spirits & Sleuths.

Oh man, I am a zombie. I’m getting a few words eked out but I don’t know how coherent they are. It’s 11:45 p.m; I’m going to try and make it to midnight, and then I’m going to bed. The Nyquil is calling me…

And I miss Ken.
