2003-03-26 11:59 PM Less prayer, more practise Bringing Back the Light: 1042
…except that I got no writing done last night. Ken got home midnight-ish, and I made popcorn, and we snuggled together to watch “Buffy”. Only to discover that I’d set the VCR to the wrong channel. That’s the second time in a row I’ve done that. Goddammit. So I pouted into my popcorn and then we went to bed. Busy day so far. I’ve paid bills, updated Quicken, sent Sage invoices, written my banner docs (if I can find a book in B&N, I’ll add another sentence or two, but otherwise they’re done), and now I’m starting on the mask docs. Ken, meanwhile, is in the woodworking shop making me the World’s Coolest Banner Stand. It’s going to have heraldic crescents around the bottom, supporting the base of the pole. Entirely his design. I told him he should enter that instead of the mask! Having trouble concentrating now. I was amazed that I’d just written more than 500 words. But Ken’s reading online job descriptions, and said something about Monterey, and five minutes later I resurfaced to comment on living in Monterey (on one hand, utterly gorgeous—and the Aquarium!—on the other, so far away from anything), and then I was double-checking what time Sarah arrives on Friday (two days!), because I thought it was about 2:45 and apparently it’s 1:50. Blink. Oh. There. Finished the collab with Teresa. It’s good to be writing again. Tomorrow, I must finish beading the banner (I did four out of the 13 goutty today) and sew it together. And finish the mask docs (the banner docs are done). Then in the evening we’re going to Medieval Times with many members of Ken’s family. Should be amusing. Med Times, for those of you unaware of this attraction, is a dinner/show thing where there’s jousting and such. I’ve been only once, a lifetime ago. I shall never forget my normally reserved ex yelling at “our” knight, who was also a priest, “Less prayer, more practise!” I hope we get the same knight. I want to yell that. Two days ‘til Sarah gets here! Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
