She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Mysterious notes

ALNM: 0
exercise: yard work

A quick update, as it’s late.

Chiro in the morning. When I came home, Ken had mowed the lawn and was in the process of attacking weeds. I joined the fight, mostly sweeping and so forth. We’re still white trash as far as the edging is concerned, but not so much that we’ll get fined. So.

Earlier today I made notes on things to mention. I wrote “food”. I don’t know why. Uhm, we ate food. It was probably tasty. (Supper was burritos with chicken sauteed in garlic, cheese, leftover Mexican rice, and Trader Joe’s garlic salsa. Nummers.)

Sewing night tonight. I finished a pair of long drawers and mostly another pair of short ones. I should mention that I wore my initial pair this weekend and loved them. They were so terribly comfy. I’m hooked.

Mary Catherine and Alric arrived with my floor loom! See, they had no space for it, and were willing to barter for garb, and so it’s mine! I haven’t a fucking clue how to use it. But it’ll be a fun challenge. They stayed ‘till late; largely my fault because I made them watch the beginning of “Twice Upon a Time” because they didn’t know about the Figmen of the Imagination. (Note: Don’t buy the commercial video of this. Apparently they’ve ripped the heart out of it. Find someone with two VCRs and an original copy. Trust me on this.)

We’re not going to the Bay Area tomorrow, largely because of Eclipse. Ken didn’t want to go w/o me and we couldn’t leave her. I finally got info on her bloodwork today. The driver for the lab left it in his van for several hours on a hot day, so we have to take her in tomorrow for a re-test. Poor thing. She hates that. All that said, she didn’t yark last night, and she’s been eating and drinking a bit today. Although she’s drooling, which probably isn’t good.

If Ken gets lots of résumés out tomorrow (the Seal Beach arm of Boeing has lots of jobs right now! Seal Beach is five minutes away!), then on Wednesday we’re going to ride over the mountains, see the poppies (http://totalescape.com/active/leisure/flowers/poppies.html) that didn’t exist last year, and go to the wild cat preserve (http://www.cathouse-fcc.org/).

Forgot to mention two things yesterday, but only remember one of them now. Argh. Albra challenged me with an interesting proposition, which I conditionally agreed to (if we’re still in the area. Although the bulk of the work could be done long distance if needed.). Otherwise, will be lots of fun, and dovetails nicely with the end of the GWW work I have to do.

Bed now. Zzzzzzzzzzz.
