Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Uh, what day is it again?

Technically it’s Tuesday, but since I’m still awake, it’s Monday in my reality. We’re on the red-eye flight to Chicago (where we’ll change to a plane to Atlanta). The movie is “Down With Love”, which I’ve wanted to see, so that’s cool. I’ll answer some e-mail at the same time. Alas, I can’t sleep on planes, which will make me quite the cranky person tomorrow. My plan is to take a good nap once we get to the hotel.

Today was a bit stressful, and I’m glad it’s theoretically over. I had a lot of copy editing to do, as well as a bunch of GWW stuff to sort out. Today was the deadline for the Kingdom newsletter—the issue of the month of the War, so this is a crucial announcement. So, of course, people dumped a ton of information on me today. The Chronicler was kind enough to give me a two-day extension. I can probably have it sorted by tomorrow, but in case I sleep half the day, I opted for a little extra padding.

I retained the anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach even in the airport, even though I couldn’t figure out why. We got there in more than enough time. I honestly don’t think I’ve forgotten to pack anything. I think it was just residue, though, because I’m feeling better.

Movie’s over now. I got a fair amount of e-mail answered. I’d do more (I definitely have more!) but my brain is starting to shut down. Time to turn off the computer and do a little reading (SFWA journal, Locus, RT Bookclub—yeah, trade stuff).
