Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

In other happiness, as I was taking out my contacts last night, a scene for ALNM came into my head. The characters just started talking to each other. So I grabbed the Palm and keyboard and sat in the bed surrounded by cats, and lo, it was good. This writing thing is starting to get pushier…

Sarah called this morning to say that they got through Isabel just fine, and reports are coming in from Keilyn and other friends with the same news, which is a relief.

And Ken’s coming home tonight! Yay! I can live with him being gone for another week if I get a conjugal weekend with him, you know?

Oh. Now I’m bummed out. More than I thought I would be, dammit. Current reports say Glen is leaving Styx. Now, at least it’s not Larry (or, gods forbid, Tommy or JY), but dammit, I _like_ Glen! And if the shows the other night were the last times I was going to see him with Styx, I would’ve like to know that _beforehand_! I’m sad now.

Alrighty then. Three stories in the mail—the one that had the swift rejection, the one that bounced e-mails twice to the editor, and “Legacy of Love” tweaked and out to The Romance Rag, giving me 26 stories in print, with another scheduled to go out on 1 October during the magazine’s reading period. And I need to get a couple reprints out to some erotica best-of anthos.

I have way too many stories in revision right now. Must work on that.

Ken’s home! Ken’s home! Party time! Excellent!

Actually, not so much party time. We grabbed In-n-Out burgers, came home, ate, and he promptly crashed. I’ll be going to bed soon, since we have an early morning tomorrow. But he’s home! Yay! (I know, you’re all sick of the enthusiasm already.)

Got both of the reprints packaged to mail. One is going to the UK so will have to wait until I want to brave P.O. Hell.

I also got some indexing done today, and more editing for the Gate Booklet. I’ll should start designing it on Sunday.

Hmmm… Just started scribbling notes for the Denise Little anthology. Interesting stuff coming out. Stuff I didn’t expect. I think it may just work. Feels good, y’know?
