2004-01-13 11:59 PM Grey London Good morning, pets. It’s almost noon on a grey London day. Ken’s off to Northampton to look at a machine for JY in Korea. Because of my cold, I’m staying in. It’s frustrating to be in London and not Go Somewhere and Do or See Things, but I know it’s for the best. I’m coming out the other side of the cold, and I don’t want a relapse. I need part of a day to myself. Anyway, the microwave just beeped for my second cup of tea, and I’m full of leftover Chinese food (happily sated, even if Ken seems to have eaten the last of my crispy beef), and it’s time to get this journal caught up.
This entry will be potentially confusing. I haven’t written an entry since 7 January. I haven’t had the time, or the energy (stupid cold), or the access (Ken’s needed to be on the laptop a few times for work reasons, and by the time he’s done I’ve either been asleep or too sick or we’ve headed off somewhere again). I took cryptic little notes each day on what we’ve been doing, and now I’m going to type them all up, but occasionally I’ll be popping in here to make comments on today. Don’t stress—just make yourself a cup of tea or coffee or pour a glass of wine, get comfy, and enjoy. No, wait. You see, you’ve already read all the entries up ‘til now. It’s too late to get comfy to read them. All right then, get a drink and get comfy reading another journal, or catching up on your e-mail, or snuggling with a loved one. Just do something nice. I like to think of all my friends being happy. :-) Oh! The most important thing to mention! Sarah is coming to visit! She has 26 March through 4 April off, and I hope to keep her the entire time. The 26 March date was crucial, because, on the 27th I have front-row tickets to Styx. She’s never been front row at a Styx concert, and it was high time we changed that. Oh happy, happy day! My soulmate is coming to visit! Although we’ve bought a ton of postcards, we haven’t written any of them yet. Argh! We have to take the case of Black Mtn Liqueur to the Post Office soon, so we’ll buy stamps then. Probably finish writing the damn things and mail them in the airport. How pathetic… Right. Ken’s called; he should be back in a little more than an hour. We’ll return the rental car, then head into London center and see about getting some theatre tickets and maybe doing a little shopping. I’ll finish up the journal entry I’m working on and post them all, so you’re not totally in the dark any longer. Oh, and a small bit of positiveness—my heartburn stopped during my cold.
