Okay, so I lied about the “updates tomorrow” thing. How did it get to be Saturday already?! <><><> I wrote this note on the Palm at work one day: There's a storm surge computer model called the "Sea, Lake, and Overland Surges from Hurricanes"...or, SLOSH. Who says scientists don't have a sense of humor? That made me laugh out loud. Which is a good thing, because reading this book on hurricanes is otherwise putting me to sleep. <><><> On the writing front, I’ve hit at least 500 words each day, with 780 last night to finish the chapter I was working on. So, go me. I finally posted commentary about my Battlecorps.com story “Mirage” at the Battlecorps website. You do have to join to read the story and commentary, and to make comments, but it’s kind of like buying a magazine or anthology, and the site is crammed full of awesome fiction by lots of my friends! Today, so far, I’ve gotten two stories back in the mail, updated some anthology guidelines, read Chapter 1 of a collab Teresa and I are working on, and started the synopsis for that project. <><><> So, that update. I was really wiped on Wednesday evening, and still full from lunch and milkshake, so I wasn’t sure I wanted to go out to dinner. But we had offered one of our spare beds to a BMW rider from Texas who was coming through to get a custom bike seat from the guy in Ojai who makes them, and he wanted to take us out to dinner. We went out for Chinese, and Ken and Edgar toasted my birthday, and lots of leftovers were brought home. We went to bed early, since Ken hadn’t managed to finagle getting me the next day off… I don’t remember the rest of the week now. Work, writing, driving. Oh, Shire meeting on Thursday night. That’s about it for my life right now! ---- Currently Reading: Too Much Temptation, Lori Foster (Brava) Lately Listened To: Eurythmics, Greatest Hits Recently Watched: various Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
