She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Lovely gloom

Words Written: DFL, 869

Went to bed too late last night, because I was talking to Ken. But I got to get up 15 minutes later than usual because I was meeting the carpool in Ventura. Still, my headache has come back. Damn.

Another grey, overcast, “June Gloom” day. Hurrah for that.

Yesterday Ken sent me a picture of the inside of the Tilamook Cheese Factory, which he’d visited over the weekend. [beam] I would get thrown out of the factory, I’m sure I would…

Looks like Ken will be home for a visit next weekend (first weekend of June) rather than this weekend. Holiday airfares are stupidly expensive, although he could get a cheap flight…that had him home for one night. Doesn’t really seem worth it. Problem is, next weekend he was looking at running a bike tech session for the BMW guys up there, so the visit would still be shortened. I’m selfish and cranky about that; if he’s coming home, I want him for the maximum time possible.

Anyway, I’ll should probably go see darling Meglet this weekend. Not sure if we’ll do the two-day “Brideshead Revisited” viewing fest or not. Must coordinate with her and see what she thinks. It sounds like I’ll have Phae’s novel manuscript to read, too, so I’ll have to make sure that gets balanced in as well.

And (she says cautiously), I may have another project with a tight deadline, but I’m waiting to see how a couple of things pan out first.
