2005-07-15 10:17 PM Being pulled by the words Words written: CSF 1000
No writing on the carpool in today. We told funny wedding stories. Why do two out of my three ceremonies (‘cause, yeah, two ceremonies for one marriage, what’s your point?) make great stories? I mean, I was never one of those girls dreaming about her perfect white wedding (yawn) but there were things I wanted, and those things did not include a large ceramic Alf or a drunken Scotsman trying to beat down the door of his new bride’s room…with his head. While singing. <>-<>-<> Oh! Oh! What a great quote:
The faster I write the better my output. If I'm going slow I'm in trouble. It means I'm pushing the words instead of being pulled by them. I also like this one:
Every first draft is perfect because all the first draft has to do is exist. It's perfect in its existence. The only way it could be imperfect would be not to exist. <>-<>-<> Hot damn! I wrote 1K on the carpool home! I’m surprised Afalwen didn’t burst into flames. Okay, we hit a little traffic, but it wasn’t that much of a slow down. Still probably about 45 minutes. I was just in the groove. Felt great, too. The words were pulling me along. I’m planning to send the boys away tomorrow for a few hours, and I’d like to finish the chapter I started today. Then maybe we can do a movie or something in the evening, or grab Morgana and Brian as well, and do dinner, and watch the first ep of the new season of “Battlestar Galactica”. <>-<>-<> So Dave is here, visiting from London before going to a conference in Pasadena next week. He and Ken will probably go to the French Festival in Santa Barbara tomorrow (slightly tempting, but I do have writing to do, and I’m not particularly fond of either crêpes or poodles). Dave brought us, at our request, Stag’s Breath Liqueur (heaven in a bottle), good British chocolate, and a book I’d ordered. We do like Dave. :-) I think tomorrow we may also have to indulge in liqueur and chocolate (although we did have some chocolate tonight after supper). Off to snuggle with my honey! ----
