2005-08-16 10:43 PM Staggering back to the world Very tired. But we're washing the sheets and mattress pad. I sent an e-mail to Ken from work this morning asking him to throw them in (and asking him to do a couple of other things, and telling him I'd left my cell at home), but the message never arrived. Argh. I'm tired enough to start getting weepy, I tell you…
Still trying to finish up the write-up of the concerts and the weekend. Close to done, honest. Just so tired… It looks like I'm going to be carpooling only one day this week. Phooh. There goes my prime writing time. Of course, you'll have noticed I haven't gotten a lot of writing done since Teresa and I got the novel ms to our editor. (I love saying that! :-) ) I've gotten some short stories in the mail (couple more to go) and generally caught up on what got pushed aside during the novel frenzy, but that's it. Part of it is that I'm feeling rather overwhelmed by all the choices. I have no idea what to focus on next. That's one nice thing I can say about novel deadlines, anyway. I need to check my anthology deadlines list and decide what short stories I need to work on next, and also get a couple novel proposals in the mail, which will entail some writing, too. Must get back to writing! I'm getting antsy… And I talked to Sarah, and she's willing to move further on Trusting Nate, which needs about 20K added to it before we can pitch it at Brava. She made a good point about a discrepancy with the heroine, so we'll work on that, too. I need to re-read the whole thing and make notes. Ack. But I really do love this book, and want nothing more than to hand a published copy to Larry, autographed with “Please don't sue us.” Hee. In other news, I'm starting to get excited about CCR. I was just at the hotel's website looking up some info, and the pictures of the scenery are breathtaking. Usually while Ken's in tech sessions or whatever, I hole up in the hotel room and write. I may get too distracted this time… Work on my website has commenced, and I'm very excited, although I think I've written the most boring bio on earth. Sigh. I should have ya'll write it. Or maybe Sarah, given that she's known me the longest of anybody, except my family. And my family is so not writing my bio. (“At 9 months, she was a champion spit-bubble blower.” Nope, not so much.) ----
