2005-10-23 9:13 AM Home again Words Written: notes, brainstorming, breakthroughs
We're home, safe and sound. All travel was smooth and uneventful, and sometimes even pleasant I'd forgotten how unbelievably stunning the Adirondacks are in autumn. I got out of the car at our cabin and almost wept at the scent of the pines. It just overwhelmed me for a moment. Afalwen's having a problem, so I didn't get any writing done. We think it's just a loose connection (possibly just with the screen), not anything to do with the hard drive—but everything's completely backed up (except perhaps my StickyBrain notes), so I'm not concerned in that respect. I just hate being without the laptop when I've got so many writing deadlines. I did, however, figure out some points that have been sticking for me in DFL, and I'm feeling much better about it. Still a little nervous about getting it done by the end of November, but some of us OCWers are planning a writing dare for the 4-day T'giving holiday, and that should give me some major wordcount. More later. ---
