Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Warm fuzzies

Warm fuzzies—because sometimes you really need them:

From an anthology editor:

“This is one of the best stories we've received! We're wrapping up the final round of reading but this one is marked in my pile with a big YES. We will be done with the rejecting by the end of the week, and then will send out the acceptances and contracts and all that good stuff.

Thanks so much for sending it!”

And from the Red Sage folks (where I sold my romantic erotica novella “In Her Hands”), the contract, a nice check, and a letter calling the novella “wonderful” and saying “Welcome to the Red Sage family!”

Ginger lemon crème cookies and a nice hot cuppa don’t hurt, either.
