2005-12-12 11:27 PM Fevered energy Words Written: ALNM synopsis: ~1000 over two days; untitled Wicked Words story: ~500
What a truly lovely day Sunday turned out to be. It’s strange, but I haven’t felt this good, this energized, in a long time. Hope and I worked on my website. We actually didn’t get a lot of substantive work done, but I registered the domain name and hosting site, so I’m officially www.cyvarwydd.com (not that you’ll find anything there yet). She has a list of things to work on, and we plan to be live before the month is out. Exciting! Her design is fantastic, have I mentioned that before? I utterly adore it. I’ve been keeping iChat on in case Ken had a few moments to check in, and after whomping up a vat of mashed potatoes, I came back to the laptop (which I’d plopped in the media room while I was reading and taking notes on ALNM) to find Phaedra. (Er, Phaedra on iChat. Not Phaedra in the media room. Unfortunately.) We haven’t talked in far, far too long. I needed to reconnect with the other half of my brain. Phae, we will reunite the Brain at the workshops in April and May, right? Then I called Sarah to discuss major revisions to ALNM. It was like…coming home, I guess. We were perfectly in sync. At one point, I said something off the top of my head—and she read what she’d written in her notes before I’d called, the same thing, almost word for word. Spoooooky. But also wonderful. We laughed until there were tears, and we sorted out a much stronger emotional arc for the damn book. I had half the new synopsis written before we hung up, I think. If not on paper, then in my head. I talked to Ken for a while, but not nearly long enough—just a brief catch-up before he had to get back to work. That, and the fact that I couldn’t find anything on TV (or in the newly unpacked videos) to kick back and watch for a little while, were the only things that made the day not perfect. <>-<>-<> Well, yesterday’s energy may have been just fever, because by the middle of this afternoon, it was clear I was getting sick. Deep-seated cough right now, and lack of energy. How annoying. But it could be worse, so really, it’s irksome more than anything else. I’m taking it easy, resting between projects, drinking cranberry juice. I’ve also just chugged Nyquil, so I’d best get myself to bed before it hits too hard… ---
