2006-01-27 11:59 PM Hey, there isn't an Athena on the new Battlestar Galactica, is there? Words Written: Chloe 809
Exercise: gentle walking around the neighborhood with Morgana and Brian Annoying day. I feel no need to inflict it on the rest of you. This too shall pass. (She says between gritted teeth.) I’ve been thinking about Teresa, because “our” reading is tonight. I couldn’t afford the trip to Boston, and I feel bad about bailing on her. But I know she did a fantabulous job. Finally got a little more writing done, too. Chapter 1 of Chloe is done, and Chapter 2 has been started. I’ll finish up the madcap mayhem (our poor heroine tries to be honest with the Hollywood media and of course it all gets misquoted and blown out of proportion) and then get it sent off to Teresa. Oh, and a possible weird habit—the abundance of useless and random pop culture trivia in my head (crowding out things like historic dates). Like, today, I was thinking about the moral dilemmas presented in the current series of Battlestar Galactica, and I remembered talking to Lev and Gayle about the show, and Lev asking whether the new Cylons had the creepy glowing red eye thing, and then we rambled briefly about the original characters. So my mind wandered through all of that (I think I was making breakfast at the time), and I remembered that Maren Jensen (who played the sultry Athena) was in Don Henley’s “Not Enough Love in the World” video because she was his girlfriend at the time (and the Boys of Summer album was dedicated to her). At which point the song got stuck in my head. The new Battlestar Galactica is still one of the most thought-provoking and powerful shows on TV, too. ---
