2006-05-14 11:59 PM Mum's the word Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms, grandmoms, stepmoms, adoptive moms, and mom-like mentors!
I hadn’t meant to leave so much time between posts, but there hasn’t been much to say, really. I’m still digging myself out from under the pile of stuff that didn’t get done when I wasn’t able to use the computer much. I can see the light, but I’m still behind. I’ve gotten a good chunk of Chapter 7 of ALNM done, after a quality phone conversation and e-mail exchange with Sarah. It’s a really great book, and I’m loving it even more! Ken made it home from Korea on Friday, thank goodness. He did have to change his flight, but only by about four hours. We packed for Anniversary Tourney, friends showed up to crash at our house, and we went to bed. I had a spot of insomnia, but I wasn’t entirely shattered the next morning when we had to be on site at 7 a.m. Anniversary itself was fantastic. I was once again blown away by how amazing this Shire is. We had at least 10 people there for set-up at 7 a.m. Fighting, contests, children’s activities all went without a hitch. Their Highnesses were impressed, and a friend from Gyldenholt said it was the best day event he’d ever been to. My back hurt a little, but I took it easy, sitting down as much as possible and lying down a couple of times. I don’t seem to have any lasting bad effects, and I’m relieved. Afterwards, we descended on the local Mongolian BBQ (I’d reserved for 30, but 50-60 folks came through) and chowed down, and then a few of us gathered at Morgana and Brian’s for drinks and amusement. We were tempted today by both a party and the Ojai Ren Faire, but instead we’ve firmly decided to take a together-at-home relaxation day. We had yummy asagio cheese bagels with cream cheese for breakfast, Reubens for lunch, and set the crockpot with a boeuf bourgenion (which we’ll have with salad and garlicky mashed potatoes later). I called my mom and both sisters. We’ve watched a couple episodes of Supernatural, and now, because we actually do have time-sensitive work on both our schedules, we’re doing some catching up at the computers. I think the need to make brownies will overwhelm me before the day ends…. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
