Mandela vs. Bush

Nelson Mandela's got our President all figured out.

Former South African president Nelson Mandela has slammed the U.S. stance on Iraq, saying that "one power with a president who has no foresight, who cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust."

That was a line in Bush's State of the Union Speech, wasn't it?

"Fellow Americans, I want to plunge the world into a holocaust!"

Mandela said U.S. President George W. Bush covets the oil in Iraq "because Iraq produces 64 percent of the oil in the world. What Bush wants is to get hold of that oil." In fact Iraq contributes to only 5 percent of world oil exports.

The man is 84. He's had a life that I can hardly imagine. But shouldn't he at least have a basic understanding of the issues before he opens his mouth to spew bile at the United States?

But here's the kicker:

"They do not care. Is it because the secretary-general of the United Nations is now a black man?" said Mandela, referring to Kofi Annan, who is from Ghana.

Yup, I think that's it Mr. Mandela. Now it's all crystal clear. Bush is a bigot, Powell and Rice are house slaves, and this is his opportunity to put down the uppity Secretary General. It's patently obvious that if we had a white Secretary General, none of this would be happening.

Don't look now, but the level of international dialogue regarding this issue just dropped about forty points.
