The collab was a lot of fun, and I think the choice of alternating viewpoints made it especially conducive to collaboration...so it was a good choice. The story still needs some work, and I'll be interested to see what my group says, but I'm definitely pleased with the process, and with being able to work with Mike on a piece of fiction.
I've still got ten stories in the mail, and I'd like to get that number up to a steady fifteen within a couple of months, and keep that many in constant circulation for the rest of the year. I've still got novel projects waiting in the wings, but I like the idea of writing several stories set in a common world and possibly tying them together into a novel. That approach is appealing, and I've been thinking of some possibly ways of going about it. Meanwhile, I've got plenty of independent stories to work on, little seeds to grow into...um, shrubs. The next time my group meets I'll have a new story for them, mostly like the evolutionary literature story "A Million Monkeys Typing". Should be fun.
