Only American Preemption?

We're not the only ones talking about pre-emptive military action.

Japan would launch a military strike against North Korea if Tokyo had firm evidence that the Stalinist state was ready to attack with ballistic missiles, Japanese Defense Minister Shigeru Ishiba said.

"It is too late if [a missile] flies towards Japan," Ishiba told Reuters in an interview on Thursday.

Yup. I blogged a few months ago about the danger of not confronting North Korea. I still stand by my predictions. I wouldn't be surprised if Japan was full-steam ahead on a covert nuclear program as a deterrent against North Korea. I just don't think they're going to rely on the U.S. umbrella to protect them.

And now we learn that North Korea has an untested missile that could hit Seattle or L.A.

Worried? You should be.
