Politics and art go together like ice cream and ketchup, so it's not surprising that Coldplay, who really do produce some excellent music, had this to say at last night's Grammys:

“We would like to dedicate this to Johnny Cash and to John Kerry, who hopefully will be your president some day,” he told the star-studded audience.

Hm. I think it would have been a lot cooler, and more appropriate, to actually endorse the late Johnny Cash for President. He's more lively, for one. And more believable. And more likely to beat Bush (a dead Southern musician is more likely to carry the South than a liberal Senator from Massachussets).
