Pretty cool stuff. There wasn't a lot of narration, just a bunch of raw footage of the three flights (the first test flight and the two prize flights), with footage of the pilots suiting up, their families on the ground, and video from the wing and inside the ship. Just reading the news stories about it doesn't really give you a good appreciation of just how dangerous flying into space really is, how fast they were going, or what it was like when the ship started to roll on the first prize flight. Also, watching the families on the ground during the flight reminds you that these people weren't even sure their dad/husband would be coming back. It's incredible that the first two attempted flights were successful. That team has plenty of smarts and huevos. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
