I went to graduate orientation today at UL Lafayette. It was fine. All the boring stuff about health services, computer services, libarary information, and so on. Oh, and a warning not to plagiarize. Thanks, guys.

Anyway, I go back tomorrow morning to fill out some paperwork so I can get paid as a research assistant. Then classes start next week.

I found out UL is in the process of installing a wireless network around campus. Right now it's only active in the library, student union, and a few other buildings, but it's nice to hear they're working on making it campus-wide. It'll also be nice to have access to digitized journals. For the past couple of years I've made due with what I could find via CiteSeer and other publicly available papers on the web...but probably a good 75% of published work isn't freely available, at least in electronic format, and some not at all.

Anyway, my first class is on Tuesday. I'll keep you guys all up-to-date on how it's going and what kind of stuff we're talking about.
