The Implosion of Infocom

I don't know how many people here played any Infocom games. They were some of the first video games, and basically acted like interactive stories, with puzzles to solve. In junior high and high school I played Zork, Zork II, Zork III, Enchanter, Sorcerer, Spellbreaker, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Via Slashdot, here's a link to a guy who came into possession of Infocom's backup drive, containing various in-house communications detailing the implosion of Infocom in the late 80's, and a working prototype of an unreleased game: Milliways: The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (near the end of his blog entry). These games seem pretty lame now, but I spent many hours of my youth playing them. It brings back some nostalgia, but I don't think the games would be all that fun to play now.
