Rejected, but the editor made some interesting comments that I'm going to look at and see if I can brush up the story a bit. I can't do much about the ending without mucking up the premise of the story - as obvious as it apparently is, but I can take a look at the other stuff he pointed out.

I rarely do this because every editor has a different things that's "wrong" with a story. In general, I usually only do revisions based on editor rejections if the same comments come back 2 or 3 times. So far, this hasn't happened much. Usually the reasons for rejections are as varied as the people doing the rejecting.

But, in this case the editor was professional, clear, and concise, and he didn't have that annoying tone that a lot of editors seem to have when they tell you what's "wrong" with your story. He even gave me some positive feedback. So, I figured I could take a look and see what I could do. Might help with the next submission - which I hope will be later today. :)
