Was talking with a friend and figured I should some add some of the resources I've shared with her to the sidebar over there. Just an idea of what there is:

» Market Finder and Ralan's are market lists. Ralan's is more specfic, but covers everything from for-the-love to pro. MF covers any genre and posts paying markets only. MF also has the advantage of allowing LJ users to put relevant markets into their memories for future reference rather than forcing them to search it again and again for the same genres. And it uses tags, which are similar to categories, which helps non-LJ users and new users.

» The Alden.nu Writers Portal has 100s of links on everything from the basics of writing to world building to writer resources and groups to author pages. The only thing it doesn't have is markets. That ended up being just a little much to try to keep up with.

» Wikipedia is up there with Google for info finding!

» OneLook is a dictionary that has over 900 other dictionaries findexed

» I admit I don't recommend poetry.com for much, but their Rhyming Dictionary is a good poet resource.

» DII is my writing group. Deliberately has a small membership, but that keeps the atmosphere homey. We also have openings almost every month for a variety of reasons. And we also have a lot who leave come back. ;)

So there you go, my top writer resource choices.
