Silly Thinking

I was at a protest against the war again today when I spotted this statue that seemed ripe for destruction. I was there with about 200 other protesters, so we lefties were obviously more committed than the few dozen Iraqis who turned up for the Marine's destruction of Saddam's statue.

If we in the peace movement had torn down the statue you see below, if we had been equipped with sledge hammers or a tank, we should have been able to convince the world that we'd defeated the US Imperialist and Plutocractic regime and that the entire country felt liberated by our actions, that is if the media would have played by the same rules they did in Iraq.



I really think this Rough Rider should go, but these days it seems that Teddy rides again, and now he can dominate not just this hemisphere, but rather the whole globe.
