Hi again everyone and welcome to "Silly Thinking With Douglas Lain". I'm Jim Farris filling in for "Douglas" while he's "on assignment".
Regular visitors may have noticed the "Fair And Balanced" part of the title of this thing has been removed. It seems "Douglas" has decided to drop it in respect for his friends at FoxNews. Intresting that he would drop it after I "outed" Mr. Lain in yesterdays column as a right wing CIA plant.
Anyway while were waiting for his response I will move on to todays topic: Mars.
Has it been a strange summer for ya'all? Feeling listless or in a strange place in your mind? The answer might be that our collective Mom-Mars-has decided to come see how the kids are doing by visiting earth for the first time in 60,000 years. The magnetic pull alone has thrown our weather into a nutsy unexplainable pattern (think what it's doing to the thousands of shore lines in your own body) and I believe it is affecting our behavior. After all it is deeply buried in our minds but I think we all came from Mars way back when. We are the martians. The only creatures on earth who weren't prepared for the climate. We are the only life forms who need clothes. everything from butterflies to elephants do just fine with what mother nature provided but we had to improve on what we had with clothing. I'll bet we didn't need clothes back home. Anyway tonight Mom's as close as she will ever be in your life time so go out and have a look. Just look to the east and you can't miss her. She's huge; the brightest light in the sky. Mom will take your breath away. Mars is supposed to go back where she came from after tonight but think about how many bad sci-fi stories could come out if she didn't know that and kept on coming or just stayed there for a while.
That's doubtful so have a look.
"Douglas" will be back tommorow. I'll see you on Thursday.
