Where to be on DVD
New DVD releases this week:
“Cheaper By The Dozen” limp “reimagining” of 1952 comedy classic features Steve Martin (who may get the Eddie Murphy award for worst comedies of the year)) and Bonnie Hunt.
“The Day The Earth Stood Still” Robert Wise (“West Side Story”, “The Sound Of Music”) directed this sci-fi classic which depicts a “nice” space alien treated with disdain by mankind. It was the first time this scenario played out on screen, but it wouldn’t be the last.
“Kill Bill Volume 1” Originally one long Quentin Tarentino film became two and this film premiere’s on video just in time for the movie debut of the second.
“Babylon 5” Season five. Surprisingly engaging and thoughtful series premieres it’s last season and it should be a ball to watch on DVD.
Of the top ten sellers of the week the hugely entertaining “The Rundown” is on the list twice (#1 in widescreen and #9 in full screen).
