CC: Good morning. Tonight our guest is the host of the NBC “Tonight Show” and the star witness at today’s Michael Jackson trial proceedings, TV funnyman Jay Leno.


JL: Hi ya Connie. Hi folks.



CC: There’s no audience.


JL: Hi folks how ya doin?



CC: Jay, you testified at the Michael Jackson trial today. Why?


JL: Hey folks, did ya ever notice how fat women go up escalators? No, they're really fat. They just stand there. I mean it’s embarrassing.


CC: Jay, you testified at the Michael Jackson trial today. Why?


JL: Well, they asked me. It was a booking.


CC: A booking? Like an appearance in Las Vegas?


JL: Yeah, you know, like that.


CC: Didn’t you see the underlying problem of making this more of a media circus than it already was with the likes of you on the stand?


JL: No. What are you talking about Connie? I mean, if I do his show maybe, when this is over, maybe he’ll do my show. Letterman didn’t do it. I mean, it’s show business that’s all. Hi ya folks.


CC: Were you a witness for the prosecution or the defense?


JL: Uhh, the defense, the defense.


CC: Do you know the difference?


JL: Sure. The defense is Michael's and the prosecution is California.


CC: And you testified for Michael Jackson?


JL: Sure. It’s his show. The state of California isn’t the King of Pop. And California won’t do my show.


CC: Do you know Michael?


JL: No, no. People on the street know who he is though. We asked some really stupid people who he was and most of them knew so we threw it out.


CC: SO you don’t know him. What did you testify about?


JL: Oh, the sick kid's mother called the show a few times.


CC: That was it?


JL: Yeah. It’s show biz Connie. You know folks. You know show business don’t you?


CC: We don’t have an audience.


JL: Hey folks, did you see in the paper today that….
