CC: The city of New Orleans was spared a direct hit from Hurricane Katrina, a lot of weather watchers and the media considered it a lucky break, but since the huge hurricane passed the problems have just begun.

Water has been rising for two days. 80% of the city is under water, a major breech, two blocks long, in one of the key levy's surrounding the city has occured and the water in downtown is rising 5 feet per minute at this hour.

The Superdome was home of over 10,000 refugge's during the hurricane, is now home to over 30,00 homeless and injured and the situation is deteriating inside.

One critical problem throughout the city is security, 70% of the National Guard and equpment is in Iraq, leaving the city defensless. One man jumped to his death inside last night. Hundreds of poor people are stranded on their roofs all over the suburbs of the city.

The death toll is confirmed at over 80, but officials fear hundreds may be dead when they can get into these isolated neighborhoods.

President Bush, still vactioning in Crawford, Texas had no comment today and is due back at work on Sept. 6th.
