DuffieMoon A Bit of Randomness Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus |

2004-12-24 10:13 PM My Last Day - A Rant Well that's finally over. And good riddance.
I realize that I volunteered to close on Christmas Eve. I realize that my co-worker who is also Jewish also volunteered to close with me. However, we did not volunteer to set a display that had to be finished before we could leave/the store opens on sunday. And took us two hours longer than we were told it would. So we left the store 3 1/2 hours after the mall closed. And the security guard came by several times to make sure we were ok and ask why the hell we were being made to work so late. All while our significant others (who aren't Jewish) called to see when we would be able to come home and spend time with them (and her one year old son who celebrates Christmas). This aggravation was followed by a day of being treated like complete and utter crap by the customers who waited till late in the day on Christmas Eve to buy presents and then couldn't understand why we wouldn't be able to have anything ready for them before we closed. Following this was by drive to Cleveland Heights to feed my sister's cats, deal with her a**hole neighbors who had the entire street blocked off and the drivers who couldn't figure out that pulling in front of me and slamming on the breaks might be a bad thing. Then it was out to Ridge Park Square to see a movie. Via 480. Which is a crappy ride in good weather. Only to arrive to find a note on the theater door explaining there was a mistake in the paper and there was no movie. But then I got to be with friends. And drink wine. And I had my Christmas Chinese food dinner. And all became right with the world. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
