A Bit of Randomness

Most people go through life dreading they'll have a traumatic experience. Freaks were born with their trauma. They've already passed their test in life. They're aristocrats. --Diane Arbus

Jeeps & Pregnancy

So of course when the temperature hits stupid hot (at least for me, right now. I realize stupid hot will just get worse as the summer goes on. But that's not the point right now, ok?) my car decides it just doesn't feel like letting me use the air conditioner. Rather, I *could* use it and then stall out every dang time I stop the car. And personally, I don't find that acceptable. So the car is going in for repairs to the place right next door to where E- works (how convienient!)

What this means is that we switched cars. And I got to drive the jeep today. Which while fun and carefree and for the most part makes me feel all young and reckless and like I'm going on an adventure (shut up. this is my story).

However, strangely enough, a jeep is not really designed to be happy and supportive to a fairly pregnant woman: if my seat is close enough so that I can use the clutch properly, then the steering wheel and my tummy are very, very close and personal (and moderately annoying). Plus, the seatbelt tends to cut across my throat (but that was easily solved by a simple device I found at Target that moves the belt to a more comfy position. Whoo hoo!) Add to that the fact that, well, it's a really freaking bumpy ride and my back is a bit sore. But as that's nothing new... we can forgive a bit.

The baby seemed to enjoy the ride. Gof figure.

I just kept finding myself thinking about Linda Hamilton in Terminator and being waaaay pregnant and, yes, I believe in a jeep. And my suspension of disbelief has been, well, suspended. This was before she was all buff and mighty and all. Getting there, but not yet.

Yeah, I know I'm no Linda Hamilton and this isn't the movies. But it's been an early day and that's where my head's at. Just thought I'd share.

:^)
