The cover features a striking photograph by Dave. I borrowed my Dad's Pentax many years ago and tried my hand, but, as I discovered, photography is one of those things that aren't as easy as they might appear -- not unlike writing.

What you see in the camera's viewfinder -- weirdly enough -- never seems to appear on the film once it's developed, unless you have some idea what to do with all those numbered moving fiddly widgets on the camera. Similarly, just because you can see a scene in your mind doesn't mean the words you're setting down on the page will convey it to readers. There is a certain amount of technical skill required.
