When the Piggy Bank Has Lean Rashers

As authors Mary and I are expected to publicize our books and/or ourselves. To me the very statement sounds stupid, but that's the way it is. Since we aren't comfortable with self promotion we tend to do stuff that we'd do anyway and call it advertising. This journal is (or given the lack of frequency "was") a good example.

So it is that over at Mustard Seed Marketing Mary has marketing tips for When the Piggy Bank Has Lean Rashers.

One of the things she mentions is making a free pdf give-away. She explains our own effort: "Some time ago we created a collection of favourite essays from those published in our newsletter Orphan Scrivener. They are best described as humorous or nostalgic stories. We named the collection A Literary Ragbag just for the heck of it, and it lives on our website as a sample of our non fiction writing. It is our hope readers will find it provides a diverting half hour or so and encourage them to investigate our fiction."

Half the essays are by me and half by Mary. You can find it Here:

A Literary Ragbag

Oh, and I almost forgot....buy our books.
