Oh, it's a boring sentiment, isn't it?

We're both playing on computers. I'm sitting on the bed, typing a journal entry. He's playing Medieval Total War. It's 57 degrees outside, rainy and windy. Tomorrow it's supposed to snow, and there's a nip in the air blowing through the barely opened window. The window is open for Cidella, Sean's cat, who is curled up next to me, and who races to the window everytime a strong breeze rustles the leaves which blanket the ground outside. She sniffs the air as one who has been denied heaven and gets to sit outside the gates for eternity, but the few times she has accidentally been in the great outdoors she cowers and cries, and can't seem to abide the touch of grass.

I've been surfing for the last hour or so, reading: Neil Gaiman's journal, the Nielsen Hayden journals, Tracina's website, Seri's journal. (See the main page for the other links, one of the good things in life right now is laziness.)

I am the featured poet in Storm Constantine's Visionary Tongue. I am told that I should have a contributor's copy before the end of the year, at which point I will tell you more about it.

I spent the earlier part of my evening talking comics and anime, which is always fun (for me, anyway). I got a writing check in the mail, also always fun. I have a short short being held by one magazine, story submissions still out at three magazines, poems in the queue at two magazines, and two articles and one review still out for consideration. I know I need to get some more writing out there, but that feels like a pretty good round at the moment.

The occasional snuggles with Sean are also always fun. Cidella has left me for the couch beside him, but her eyes are big and still intent on the window.

And I suppose the rest is like those leaves, blowing in the wind. We'll see what gets snowed on tomorrow, but for the moment, life really is good.
