2004-05-18 2:31 PM ...and the bass-player was naked Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (5) Felt like a very long weekend, I'm glad to have a day to recuperate! Friday night was fun, with a lot of people coming down I hadn't seen in a while, and celebrating Mike's birthday. Caressa, my bar partner in crime, was out of town, so I had the upper bar to myself. It was never too busy (the students are gone) so it was extra fun, as I actually got to chat.
Saturday night was slow and boring as far as bartending went--I showed up, worked for about 45 minutes to let Jeff take a break, made $5, had a free beer, and left... ...but there was one thing I noticed as I was leaving: The bass-player of the band on stage was naked. Now we have a few of the punk bands who will play in their skivvies, which can appear to be nakedness when covered by the intruments being played, but this is the first time at 123 Pleasant Street I have seen, on a regular show night, a man playing his guitar while completely naked. Huh. Sunday was a night of strange and wonderful tips. For instance I got a little Spider-Man figure. His arms, neck and torso move, but his legs are immobile (So you can always stand him up. I like it.). Though you can't tell it in the photo, he's actually made of metal. No joke. And as you can see, he thinks I rock. I got another very cool tip, a $2 bill. Unfortunately I left it down at the bar and it was snatched up by some random. I'm a little bummed by that, but hopefully whoever got it is enjoying it. Also I think the night struck me as strange because there were a lot of, well, strange people about. A couple of homeless drunks, a couple of oddities, and more people in and out than usual for a Sunday. I actually had to shove a guy out the door at 3:30 in the morning. I had turned off the lights and everything, and he still wasn't leaving--I think he was going to sit there and hope I forgot about him and locked him in. And yes, I actually got behind him and pushed, while yelling "Go, go, go!" Hey, I get cranky when it's time for me to go to bed. And it was definitely time. So I think I'll be heading off to enjoy what's left of my day off. Later, kids. Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
