2004-08-25 9:43 PM damn hackers Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (11) So however such things happen, poetryfox.com got hacked, so I just took it down. What's even funnier is (and I really should have saved the results of the hacking, but I was just so annoyed I deleted it) it was hacked by some barely literate anti-war anti-Bush group with a message about how wrong the war was (either from someone who barely knew the language or who meant it to look like they barely knew the language--I don't rule that out). How did I become the one to hack? Just an easy target?
1) What would the words "poetryfox" have to attract that? and 2) What would have been posted on there to attract that? My war-blazing Futurama review? The cynic in me makes me think it was someone who knows I'm not a Bush supporter just trying to get me annoyed at the other side of things too, but nah. I just think it's obnoxious that someone wants to go hack innocent websites, regardless of the politics behind it (whether it's someone genuinely hurt or upset by the war or someone who wants webmistresses to be upset with those being vocal about the war--either way the hack job part of this sucks). It's time for a switch anyway. I had already let the poetryfox.net lapse, and I think I may let the poetryfox.com lapse as well. Besides, the server wasn't very nice to Michelle once upon a time, so I don't mind switching to someone else. And I just bought two new domains, even though I haven't gotten them aliased anywhere yet: never-neverland.com and never-neverland.net. Come on, what's more escapist than that?
