top sci-fi/fantasy heroines

So via Michelle I was led to this article on the Top 75 Heroines of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Horror. It's interesting reading, cool since it's not just a list but an actual listing of who the heroine is and why the person was selected. It was a fun nostalgia trip, and it made me start thinking about who exactly my sci-fi/fantasy heroines were... While I don't feel competent in making a top x number of all time, I can do a roughly chronological (to my discovery of them) quick-list of who some of my fictional heroines were...

Galadriel from LotR (my favorite female from the series next to Luthien I think--books, not the movies)

Eowyn from the LotR

Scarlett from G.I. Joe (I have a friend who named his daughter after her)

Teela from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

The Sorceress from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (she was only a woman in the bounds of castle Greyskull, and had to turn into a falcon to leave...)

She-Ra

Red Sonja (female Conan -- and she was a redhead. I'm afriad to watch and find out how bad this really is, I liked it as a child...)

Princess Allura from Voltron

Lois Lane from Superman

Wonder Woman

Princess Leia from Star Wars

Uhura from Star Trek

Batgirl

Sarah from Labyrinth

Vasquez from Aliens (I wanted her biceps!)

Tarma from Oathbound (I really liked Mercedes Lackey growing up, but I was careful to choose a character I really thought of as a hero as opposed to just the protagonist of the story...)

Nightfall from Elfquest

Leetah from Elfquest

Sioned from The Dragon Prince (Melanie Rawn liked strong red-haired female characters, which I loved reading -- and she stands the test of time, as I reread The Dragon Prince trilogy and its sequel trilogy again very recently and still loved them...)

Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon (Selena was such a whiner in the anime, though she was much sweeter in the manga...but really, I though Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars to be more interesting characters... If I went from the manga, I might have to admit Sailor Moon as a fave...)

Catwoman

Rogue from the X-Men (another red-head -- at least she was in the comic)

Jean Grey (Phoenix) from the X-men (another red-head, the perfect goody goody she seemed to me, but it was overcompensation for the wild streak the Phoenix force represented...)

Emma Peel from The Avengers

Death from Sandman

Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2

Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion

Utena from Revolutionary Girl Utena

Dr. Beverly Crusher from Star Trek

Sara Pezzini from Witchblade

Aeon from Aeon Flux

Delenn from Babylon 5

Ivanova from Babylon 5

Dana Scully from the X-Files

Willow from Buffy

Buffy from Buffy

Snow White from Fables

Cordelia from Angel

Leela from Futurama

Fred from Angel

Zoe from Firefly

River from Serenity

The sad thing being I'm sure I've missed someone I was greatly infatuated with in some way... Most of my book heroines fall more into the role of a good protagonist than my concept of a heroine exactly. It's an ill-defined line, I admit.
