Mood: get a fast car |
2002-02-10 4:37 PM i had a feeling i could be someone... *sigh*
What a great fucking weekend! Except maybe for getting lost on my way to that party... but it gave me the chance to catch up with some friends. Anyway. I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. Saturday morning, Brian and I got up and went to breakfast. He went off to take the GMAT (standardized test-thing for business school) and I went back to the East Bay to run some errands and hang out with my friend Colleen. I got food for my snake, picked up a couple of books, then picked up Colleen at Cloyne (co-op for UC Berkeley students). We got sandwiches at this amazing Italian deli called Genova. *sigh* Random note: For some reason, I forget, constantly, that Colleen is a vegetarian. I really will try to work on this. Anyway. We ate our food to a park on Lake Merritt. We wandered down the trail and fed the ducks at the bird sanctuary before heading back to Berkeley. At some point, Dave called me and said that he was in town so after dropping Colleen off, I headed down to Telegraph. It was a *good* day for parking in Berkeley... Saturday afternoon, Cal Basketball game, the whole works! After some 30 minutes of searching, I finally found parking around the south end of the People's park. I got to meet Dave's new squeeze and hang out with them for awhile. We wandered up the east side of Telegraph and they stopped for Blondie's Pizza on the way back to the car. We all headed back across the bay at about 6-ish. I dropped them off at Dave's and met back up with Brian. We headed off to the Marina for Jason's B-day dinner at this neat little resturant called Cafe Marimbo. We all wished Jason a happy 29th and had tasty dinner and drinks. Brian had Mahi-Mahi tacos with a yummy mango salsa and I had *super yummy* chicken tamales with three kinds of mole. Yum! The rest of the gang went off to see a show at the Boom Boom Room and I went to *another* birthday celebration. My friend "Tobias" was turning a quarter of a century old over in Portrero Hill. I wandered over that way from the Marina~ getting horribly lost in the process. When I finally got there, it was already kind of late, but I had a good time schmoozing and hanging out with "Tobias" and friends. I always feel a little strange going to parties where I only know one other person, but, c'est la vie, non? I talked to a bunch of different folk about a bunch of differnt things. Drugs to dancing, rock music to the current state of American affairs. Not too bad an evening, if you ask me. Anyway, got in late, woke up late, and had a relaxing Sunday afternoon so far. ;) Hope alla yous out in Internet-land are doing good yourselves. Peas out. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
