Tip of the Iceburg

You always say, bring you street-life, bring you real-life, that one man's desperate and mundane existance is another man's... techni-color. [[strange days]]

This week, to date

Nearly one year to the day after I took my beloved home… er… met my sweet one for coffee to talk about the most monster crush I’ve had on another human being in years. Maybe ever.

I can’t complain. We went out, had coffee and Italian soda, walked around the Metreon, went to a Kimock show and I got back to my little place in Berkeley after 2:30 in the morning. I was hooked. I still am. This is the most fun/amazing/wonderful thing ever.

Anyway.

Today we went hiking on these little trails just outside of Lake Tahoe. I took tons of really awesome pictures… It’s really breathtaking out here. The night is so clear. Each light shines like a luminescent crystal. During the day, the sky is a perfect shade of blue and the oh-so familiar city-haze is nowhere to be found. I really need to get out here more often. Out here, you can really *hear* yourself think. I like that.

It was a really hectic week.

Monday-day was so-so. I had just finished with a weekend of partying, so I really needed a weekend to rest from my weekend… but these things never quite work out. I think this is why “Monday” is called “Monday”. Monday-eve was better; I went and got a massage from this really awesome lady. Normally, I would have been drooling ecstatic, but I drank a bottle of water on my way over and ended up having to interrupt to use the little pixie’s room. *sigh* Interrupt a perfectly good massage session with a potty break. *sigh* Oh well… Live and learn, right?

Tuesday was supposed to be a deal-day. Brian and I were going to leave Thursday night for Tahoe, but we were in *dire* need of laundry. What do they say about best laid plans? We ended up getting a pair of free tix to the Giants/Dodgers game at Pac Bell Park. Giants lost. I can’t tell weather or not I’m upset about that. Hideo Nomo pitched a really awesome game. It was a *boom* *boom* *boom* Dodgers are back on the field. Truthfully, it wasn’t a very exciting game. The Dodgers played well and there were some sort of cool double plays, but it wasn’t *exciting*.

Oh well. These things happen, I suppose. I got to eat garlic fries and kettle popcorn and drink beer. Not a terrible night.

Work Tuesday wasn’t too bad. I spent several hours doing this. It was more fun than concentrating on real work anyway…

Wednesday-day… It’s Friday and I don’t even remember what Wednesday-day was like… Must not have been all that exciting. Wednesday-eve Darrin came by and we went off to dinner and beers and a Plaid show. Dinner, Indian food… Beers, Edenborough Inn (I think)… and Plaid. Sweet luscious Plaid. It would have been so much cooler if Plaid had gone on at like 10:30 or 11… Instead we had some 2.5-3 hours of this dj-chick named Mira Calix and some half hour of some Japanese dude doing freaky experimental electronica. Boo. That’s all I have to say. Boo.

Thursday-day. More interesting work than I’ve had all week. I had to put together some docs for this guy to show to a client on Tuesday. Whee. I was actually *busy* for most of the day… Nite == driving. Lots of driving. We got up here by 10-ish tho.

And now I’m here in Tahoe with the love of my life…

*sigh* What a week! What a great frikkin week.
