Tip of the Iceburg You always say, bring you street-life, bring you real-life, that one man's desperate and mundane existance is another man's... techni-color. [[strange days]] |

2002-04-24 5:17 PM i am resigned to my minty fate!!! I guess I must be the kind of “writer” who has to sit down and brain dump before I start *actually* writing. I Brain dump so that I can focus.
It’s something that they teach you in creative writing workshops. Don’t think. Just write. Feel. Let the words spill onto the page. If words were water, and my body was the cup, I guess I feel like surface tension is the only thing keeping me from spilling over. I feel overfull with words, and I need to get rid of a bit here and there every now and again… just to be able to move. I finished Murakami’s Norwegian Wood last night. Had a bit of a tummy ache and couldn’t sleep. I *love* reading Murakami. Absolutely love it. It feels more like I’m sensing a dream, feeling my way through the story as opposed to just *reading* it. Reading can sometimes be a two dimensional experience. When the author captures your attention but doesn’t engage your heart. When I read Murakami, I feel the story itself going straight for my heart and I can’t help but follow. I am swept into the worlds he creates, I feel sympathy and compassion for his characters… they’re so *human*, so real, complete with dark sides and imperfections. *grin* Anyway, I really enjoy reading his books. Anyway, I saw Death to Smoochy on Sunday. It was an “OK” flick. It had funny bits, nothing to spectacular. Definitely a rental… If that. I can see how/why it did poorly. It managed to be too dark to be a kid’s flick, too weird and kid-themed to really hit mainstream the right way. Oh well, I was amused. I like Edward Norton and Robin Williams plays a good gay psychotic kid’s show host. Other news? I’m working on some big projects at work. Must go focus. *wave* peace out Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
