Tip of the Iceburg

You always say, bring you street-life, bring you real-life, that one man's desperate and mundane existance is another man's... techni-color. [[strange days]]

city of lovely brothers, i mean brotherly love (part 1)

oye - what a weekend!

thursday:
worked a bit here (job2) and there (job1), headed off early to catch a viewing of zee matrix. (no spoilers) i was pleasantly surprised, had a good time. there were some amuzing people out. we caught the 4pm show and it looked like the majority of the people out where skipping off from work. how could i tell, you ask? most were in their mid-late twenties and thirties in nice clothes, button downs, ties, coats, nice shoes... the whole deal. Also, amuzing... as we were heading off, i saw some neo/trinity dress-alikes. (anyone have any funny matrix reloaded stoires?)

after, i headed over to b's office, dropped off my bag, then we walked down to the ballpark. giants and mets - giants won. i had bratwurst and fry-bread. we got cold so we headed home. caught the eclipse over the stadium on the way home. stopped at the office, picked up stuff.

home finally... but we still needed to do a load of laundry and pack for philly. between washing and drying cycles, bob dylan, and office space... I dozed on my new poof chair. finally got into bed after about 3am.

only to get up again at 6:30 or so to mad dash to the airport.

bah. day of flying. they played another crappy romantic comedy on the plane. got in to the philadelphia airport earlier than originally intended (whole flight was moved up by a half-an-hour), our ride was late, stuck in traffic. after much running about (and playing a bit with wireless instant messaging), we hopped on a shuttle to the hotel (some 30 miles outside of philly) met up with the rest of our little group and headed off to the wedding rehersal dinner.

wine, food, and several hours later... back at the hotel, drinking in the lobby, i was graced with b and friend's college tales. amuzing... but i was beat. i ended up heading back to the room and sacking out.

got up pretty early on saturday (9:00est - 5:00pdst). got people moving. went to the liberty bell. the line was long and annoying (for 5 minutes with a piece of metal). so, after about 20 standing around on a street corner *next* to the bell blocking traffic, we managed to make reservations to see independence hall the next day. and thus headed out to south street and walked around the 'haight of philly'. found the best cheese stake shop. yummy. it was called Jim's Steaks... you could smell stuff cooking on the street and there was a line out the door (and it wound around in three layers on the inside). most amuzing thing was that they made a cheese WIZ cheese steak. i didn't have the guts to try it, but it was reported to be 'intense'.

after south street, we went to the famous rocky steps. got some pictures cool pictures in (to be posted at some point). there was some sort of sikh convention going on in the park-area.

(when we return... the wedding and it's drunken aftermath)
