gabriel Love and ferrets and pretending to be a writer. 2003-09-21 4:05 PM too hot? and am I an idiot or what? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (0) |
Reading: _Across the Sea of Suns_, Gregory Benford. Weather: beautiful, sunny and warm with a light breeze The ferret is: amazing. This morning Gregg found her in the silverware drawer. Been working on the book today, more preliminary stuff. I am not going to talk about it much any more lest I suck the energy out of it and myself. Suffice it to say that I have reverted to my old ideas about it, encouraged by my buddy, Bob. (Hi, Bob.) I made cookies today, a thing I haven't done in some time. I made only a half batch so that when we have eaten them all we won't have eaten so very many. This is a good thing. They're oatmeal crispies. They're not burned by any means, but I could wish they were slightly less crispy. The oven's about right, but I haven't quite figured out how to deal with the burners on this range yet. If the pancakes get burned a bit on the bottom before they get the telltale bubbles that tell you when to flip them over, is the pan too hot or too cool? It could go either way in my mind, but I am leaning towards too hot. I appeal to any person who has a copy of the pdf of _Schiller's Road_ (any one of my vast audience of readers at all, any of the three of you) to send me a copy of the thing. I have misplaced mine somewhere on this computer or the previous computer or a floppy or outer space. I might be able to sell it again as I retained all rights, but it is made more difficult by not being able to locate a copy of it. I don't have any files with it nor paper either. It is most disconcerting. Are other writers such scatterbrained idiots as I am? I doubt it greatly. Disorganization and a tendency to dreaminess (ADD?) I can see, but losing a BOOK??? Oh! And if you havne't done it in the past few days, go check out Gregg's latest photos. In each gallery the newest ones are the last. There are wonderful waterfall pictures and one of the sunrise in the Columbia River Gorge, and a neat portrait of Maui, my stepdog, running that was taken yesterday. |
