I have found each of my little ferret girls in funny places lately. Their bedroom is all ther own except for a chiropractic table we have in there. The other night I found Sally up on the table, waiting for an adjustment. Then I found Tazo on the windowsill. There are places to rest your hands on the table -- they're kind of slippery, but I figure Sally figured how to get a grip on them somehow and hoised herself up that way. And what Sally figures out how to do, she shares. She is not selfish, but teaches the others. Probably Tazo leaped from the table onto the windowsill. Sally's the scholar, Tazo's the athlete, Sebastian's the class clown. This is the time of year to get plastic Easter eggs for your ferrets. I got some of the little ones and put treats inside of them. It didn't take Tazo very long to figure out how to get them open. I didn't think she could. She gets them into a hard place, like a corner or a food bowl, and bites them open. I should have gotten bigger ones that she couldn't wrap her little mouth even partway around. Sally was checking out the new azalea at close quarters today and tried to dig it up. She made a very nice trench around one side of it. Once she got a pile of dirt under her belly, she backed up, dragging it out of the trench and went back and dug some more. Admirable technique. Sebastian had fun racing through the grass. Today was the first time I managed to get him inot harness. The secret was doing it while he was half asleep. I didn't let him stay out in the sun very long as he's an albino and could get a sunburn. And we got a lot of work done in the yard. I have hope for it now, in spite of the rocks. |
