Day three of vacation started without DSL, but a bad day of vacation is better than a decent day at werk. My version of work today was a scraping of the floors to remove dust and bunnies thereof.

After which, I took three bags of culled books up to Half-Price, and a traditional day of plundering began!

Final loot tally includes:

  • Douglas Adams reads The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on tape
  • Bill Cosby Is A Very Funny Fellow Right!, Why Is There Air?, Wonderfulness
  • Leonard Cohen, The Essential Leonard Cohen
  • Violent Femmes
  • DVD w/ 6 episodes of You Bet Your Life
  • John R. E. Bliese, The Greening of Conservative America (Westview Press, 2001)
  • Kang Chol-Hwan and Pierre Rigoulot, Aquariums of Pyongyang: Ten Years in the North Korean Gulag (Basic Books, 2001)
  • Pyotr Simonov, Essential Russian Mythology (Thorsons, 1997)

A good day's loot! Aaarrgghh! Douglas Adams will probably wait for the next road trip, although the danger of laughing the car into a ditch should be considered. Groucho and Cosby will probably get their hearings sooner. I grew up on my parents' vinyl of those three albums: the best stuff in the world, I tell you. Books, well, they go into the queue...
