Arberry); } When the lights went out, I was in the old hometown of the American Bridge Co., if you must know.* Apparently, here in the Iron City, long blackouts are rather unlikely because of the excess power capacity once required for the acres and acres of steel mills. Those power plants are still working to this day. In other irritations, a radio report from one of the Detroit AM stations said that "most of Michigan is without power", which statement I invite you to compare with an actual map of the affected counties (second on right). For values of "most" equal to "a fraction", that's true. TEH WULRD REVOLVES UROUND MEMEMEMEEE! SUBURBS=WURLD! Bah! * = Clarification -- the lights did not go out here, and I knew nothing until I heard about it on the radio driving home from work. |
