Okay, so when you meet someone, or go to their house, and you wonder what kind of person they are, maybe you try to find out what they're reading, right? See the books on the shelves that look less like window-dressing and more like they've been touched by humans, kind of thing?

Well, apparently I'm a big phat geek; tidying up a bit and just hauled away these books from the bedside reading stack:

  • Biography of Hudson Taylor
  • Eliot, Murder in the Cathedral
  • Rogers, War Cruel and Sharp: English Strategy under Edward III, 1327-1360
  • The Big Book of Sumo
  • Zinsmeister, Boots on the Ground: A Month with the 82nd Airborne in the Battle for Iraq
  • Luther, Lectures on Genesis 6 - 14
  • Brust, The Book of Jhereg
  • Barth/Blumhardt, Action in Waiting
  • Eller, Thy Kingdom come: A Blumhardt Reader
  • Blumhardt, Now Is Eternity
  • Dirlik, Anarchism in the Chinese Revolution
  • Dunnigan, How To Make War (4th ed.)
  • Antal, Infantry Combat The Rifle Platoon: An Interactive Exercise in Small-Unit Tactics and Leadership (So far, I've been killed both times w/in three decisions...)
Other than that, I've been reading the JPS Tanakh translation and I'm into II Kings now, which isn't exactly cheery reading, and have mostly finished the NT in NASB (in Rev. now).

And, I'm completely incapable of keeping a list up to date, as you can see...
