Guruzilla's /var/log/knowledge-junkie ["the chatter of a missionary sysadmin"] 2005-07-24 10:35 PM "personal MDiv" meme Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: sleepy Read/Post Comments (0) |
From del.icio.us, I got this funky meme from the infamous Jordon Cooper, superstar emergent postmodernist: the "personal MDiv", based on the "personal MBA" idea. The only problem I can see is that it bears only a vague resemblance to an actual course in theology, being focused on all this post-modern dilemma stuff. Fun, but having a leg to stand on is prerequisite, frankly. Not that there's not good stuff on Cooper's list (reminded me I have to include Newbigin for instance!), but it's hard to carry on without knowing where we've come from, where we've been, what we're carrying, and what we've left behind. My version of the meme is heavy on church history, but I feel strongly that only by looking at mistakes from other contexts can we recognize those in our own.
