Boogie Woogie Flu

So after a week and a half of taking vitamin C, zinc, echinachea and other sorts of herbs, I finally dragged my ass into the doctor tonight.

I have walking pneumonia.

I'm sort of flabbergasted, honestly. I mean, I knew I wasn't really getting better and usually I do by now. I knew that having trouble breathing to the point where I couldn't make it through long sentences without getting winded was not a good thing. I knew better than to go to the gym even once this week.

I also knew I only had one sick day saved up, which may have had something to do with the fact that I didn't go to the doctor until Thursday night.

But, jesus christ, pneumonia? Holy shit. That's a new one.

Actually, both Susan and Richard called it earlier this week, though when I looked it up on webmd I only really had one or two symptoms. According to webmd, the only other possibility from those two symptoms was a heart attack, and I was pretty sure it wasn't that. Though they did try to convince me to come into the emergency room when I described the breathing thing to the Kaiser advice nurse earlier today.

Damn, I'm really sick.

If this entry doesn't make much sense, it's probably the codeine they gave me for the pain.

My doctor looked exactly like Terri Windling, which was very comforting, actually.

Did you know that these new fangled antibiotics you only have to take for 5 days instead of 10? And you only have to take one a day after the first day, where you take two.

Definitely babbling now.

Ok, so, yeah, I have pneumonia and I'm not going to work tomorrow.

I just wish I didn't hurt and could breathe normally.

Thank god I dragged my ass into the doctor.

Shit, I have pneumonia.
