Heh heh heh. It's 4/20, dude!

Anyway, last night I finally made it back into the gym and lifted weights. I made it to yoga last week, but didn't feel well enough to go again. Now, today, I'm feeling sick again. I'm not going to get sick. I'm mainlining Airborne.I am going to go to bed early tonight. I will not get sick.

Back to the gym. It was a good workout, but the gym was crowded. Incredibly crowded. I kept seeing people I recognized, but from places other than the gym. The waitress at our favorite mexican place. That woman I ride BART with every morning. The flower cart man's wife. Women were everywhere (I was in the women's-only weight room) all over the equipment, many of them using it wrong (one woman was using the lat pulldown machine to do rows, which was annoying because not only was there a bench free she could have been using instead, but I had done everything but my lat pulldowns and had to wait her out). In the stretching room there wasn't space for anyone to lay down completely, and women were cheek to jowl doing their crunches.

Gah.

I managed to get a good workout in anyway. In the locker room I overheard two mothers complaining about how crowded their kid's classes were. One said, "Well, they've just done a huge advertising campaign on the Y, so it's gone from bad to worse. Everyone in the East Bay is realizing that this is here and it's cheaper than those other clubs and nicer too."

Fabulous. Just when it was starting to thin out from the New Year's Resolution crowd. Sigh.

Anyway, I'm trying to get back into exercise again. I'm taking the stairs instead of the escalator and walking to work from BART when I have time (when I don't, I still take the bus). I will be healthy, dammit.

In other news, Apple announced today their new iBooks. This, of course, two weeks after I buy mine. The only real differences are the speed (mine is 1Ghz and the new ones are 1.2Ghz), the ability to install more memory (mine only goes up to 600-something MB, while the new ones will go up to 1.256GB) and an optional DVD burner (which I would have passed on anyway). Not a huge difference, but enough to annoy me. Gah.
